Chocolate Mousse Cake

Chocolate day peeps!!Haah..today is the day for some baking :).I'm a baker girl, love to bake and cake up some yummy pastries. I've been baking for about 2 yrz or so..coming to baking,i don't follow any science..it's jus my thing. It's turn's out good every single time Thank God!! :D .Today I'm here showing you how to make a "Chocolate Mousse Cake". This is a no bake cake like(not typically a cake..something that looks like one),so simple and total deliciousness!Let's just move straight onto this yummilicious thing...!

Items needed:
  1. Big glass bowl
  2. Spatula
  3. Spring foam pan or any baking pan (round preferably)(10.5"×2.5")
  4. Heat resistant bowl for double boiling

Step 1: You need any chocolate biscuit or gram cracker cookies, try to choose chocolate as this is a chocolate based recipe. I chose a mixture of chocolate/vanilla cream Oreo biscuits.

Step 2: You need to crush these cookies, can use a zip-lock bag and break it using any light weighted tool(meat hammer/ladle/pulse it in the mixer).Do not break it completely, leave in some chunks(my personal preference)..cause when u bite into this, those cookie chunks makes a whole lot of difference, adding a bit of texture.

Step 3: Take those crushed cookies and add in a dab of butter,to mix it all together..keeping it moist and pat it in your cake pan using you hand.I used a spring form pan,as it's easy to remove it once it done, without a mess.Refrigerate this to set.

Step 4: Now to the chocolate mousse part,the ingredients you need to make the mousse part are;

  1. Whipping cream
  2. Fresh cream
  3. chocolate chips(i used nutella here)
  4. vanilla extract
  5. Oreos
  6. cocoa powder

Step 5: Pour up some fresh cream in a bowl and add in some chocolate chips and heat it by double boiler method..continuously keep stirring, until the chocolate chip has completely melted. In my case I used nutella,as i forget to get chocolate chips. It's the same process but i dint heat the cream, instead just mixed both my cream and nutella together in a bowl and kept it aside. The chocolate mousse part turned a bit paler for me,as i used nutella, but in case you use dark choco chips,or milk choco chips...the mousse part would be totally a chocolate brown color and so beautiful to look at.
Mixing up whipped cream and chocolate mixture

Step 6: Add in the fresh cream chocolate mixture a tea spoon of vanilla extract nd whip up the whipped cream to stiff peaks..together using a hand-blender,or a kitchen aid if you owe one.Doing it with hand takes a lot of elbow grease and i wouldn't personally suggest that. After whipping it up,refrigerate the mixture. You can add in some coco powder if u feel u need more of that chocolaty flavor.Plus don't tend to add more, cuz your cream batter might turn out to be bitter!(experience talks right there)
Some cocoa powder

Step 7:Bring out the spring from pan with the chocolate cracker base and the whipped cream mixture.Pour in the whipped cream mixture uniformly and flatten the top using a spatula.Refrigerate the mixture. My mixture turned out to be a little bit watery so couldn't help :|.
Pouring out that deliciousness!

Step 8: After 3-4 hours bring it out and remove it from the spring form pan..you can add in some chocolate chips at the top or even any dried nuts if you wish to.I served mine with a dollop of whipped cream or even a scoop of vanilla ice cream would do the trick ;) and drizzling some chocolate sauce or nutella for an extra something. Heyyyy ain't nobody going wrong with nutella!!!!
All set.Of to refrigerate!

Step 9: Sit back and enjoy every bite.

Step 10: Let's bang our heads on to the wall and Cry cause we've already finished half of it and realizing "That Diet Plan" has gone on for a long summer vacation and never returning back..Holala Bon voyage :/!

P.s: I'm not used to baking anything by using measurements,i know this sounds crazy, but that's exactly how i started to do it and it still works well for me!But then i thought ill get the random measurement's,it should be the same..so no worries.
I'll jus let u know randomly how much..this can serve up to 10-12 ppl max..according to the slices..whipped cream 280ml-300ml,chocolate chips according to ur chocolate preference..if u love it more chocolaty u can add in more than 1 pack (100g is 1pc).Fresh cream for 100g of chocolate chips u should add upto 140ml of fresh cream and using double boiler method melt it down.
In my case i used nutella,i added about 100ml of nutella!
I dint completely fill the pan, mine was half way through.

Hopefully this helps!! :)

Happy no baking day :D.....!!!
